General Information Regarding Current
Current: Current is a flow of electrical charge carriers, usually electrons or electron-deficient atoms. Current is having two types.1) AC (Alternating Current) 2) DC (Direct Current)
1) AC (Alternating Current): The electrons flow in one direction, then in the opposite direction over and over again, continually changing between positive (+) and negative (-).
2) DC (Direct Current): Direct Current (DC) always flows in the same direction, but it may increase and decrease. DC voltage is always positive or always negative.
Electronic circuits normally require DC Current:
Steady DC: Supply which is constant at one value.
Smooth DC: Supply which has a small variation called ripple.
Varying DC: Supply which is unsuitable for electronic circuits.
